Ce matin j'ai du temps pour vous parler de l'étape 6 qui s'en vient. J'ai le temps car la randonnée des directeurs sportifs que je devais mener a été annulée. Il pleut abondamment à Rouyn-Noranda ce matin et ça s'annonce identique pour le reste de la journée. Ce qui pourrait compliquer l'étape d'aujourd'hui, une boucle qui part de Rouyn-Noranda vers le sud, jusqu'au village de Rollet et qui revient à Rouyn pour 3 tours de circuit. Il faudra compter sur la météo pour durcir la course parce que le parcours est relativement plat.
Donc, aucun grand prix de la montagne au programme, mais trois sprints de bonification pour des points et du temps. C'est là que ça pourrait faire des feux d'artifice. Je pense à Evan Hartig de Borah Development et à Yohan Patry, Brian Etlz et Olivier Brisebois du Canada qui pourraient être tentés de prendre des secondes de bonification pour remonter au classement général et ainsi briser le top-6 de l'équipe nationale américaine. Pas très loin derrière, Nigel Ellsay de Colombie-Britannique et Jorge Armando Moreno Martinez de Major Motion seront peut-être aussi au coeur de l'action. Hartig, Brisebois et Moreno Martinez sont aussi en lutte pour le classement du meilleur jeune. Au classement des points, le sprinteur Miguel Bryon pourrait inquiéter Alex Darville avec une autre victoire d'étape. Tous ces enjeux secondaires pourraient bien pimenter l'étape de ce soir. On s'en reparle!

I have time this morning to write about the upcoming stage 6 because the coaches' ride, which I was supposed to lead, was cancelled due to abundant rain. Showers are expected for the rest of the day too. It could make tonight's stage a bit more difficult. We will leave Rouyn-Noranda towards the village of Rollet to the south, and then come back to Rouyn for 3 laps of the circuit. The entire course is mostly flat.
With the flat course, there will be no king of the mountains sprints, but we have three bonus sprints for points and time. This is where fireworks might happen. I am thiking about Evan Hartig from Borah Development and about Yohan Patry, Brina Etlz and Olivier Brisebois which could all be tempted to grab bonus time to climb upwards in the general classification in order to break the domination of USA National in the top 6. Close behind, Nigel Ellsay from BC Cycling and Jorge Armando Moreno Martinez from Major Motion may also be in the thick of it for the same reasons. Hartig, Brisebois and Moreno Martinez will also be fighting it out for the best young rider's jersey. In the points classification, ace sprinter Miguel Bryon could threaten Alex Darville's lead with another stage win. All of these secondary battles will hopefully add some excitement to tonight's stage.
